RELIGIOUS ORDERS FOR MEN
Contemplative or Cloistered orders are religious orders of men and women whose life are centered in silence, meditations, works and sacrifices they took turns in prayers 24 hrs a day to our Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of all mankind. Like St. John Cross and St. Claire of Assisi
Active Religious orders aside from their daily prayers they are active in charity works, institutions: schools & medical and taking care of the poor around the globe. (like: Mother Theresa)
THEY BOTH TAKE THE 3 VOWS OF OBEDIENCE, CHASTITY & POVERTY
The Diocesan Priests are the one assign in the parishes. They only take 2 vows Obedience & Chastity, although they don't take the oath of poverty they have a monthly salary or stipend from their bishops, so if they are assigned to poor parish they also experience personal poverty. All parishes Sunday's 2 collections 1st collection is for church expenses like salaries, bldg. maintenance, repairs etc. the 2nd donation is for parish charity works like bread line and any Charities. I know a parish priest who buys his shoes and clothes from Salvation Army.
Some clergy like the Anglican who are married before converting to the Catholic Church can request dispensation to Rome to remain a priest.
